A Hat .. simple as that.

For the longest time I only crocheted blankets. I slowly ventured into new stitches but stayed in my comfort zone. Then I took a tiny step sideways and made scarves. Then …then I was so brave. I made an infinity scarf and a head band.

I find myself with extra time these days and a willingness to try something different. So I tried making a hat.

My first attempt was comical. The photo is blurry because I was giggling too much.

Lesson here is to always check the stitch.  A double stitch is NOT a half double crochet.  lol

My second attempt is ok. Turns out I don’t like the style and it’s too big for me.

I did find out that they’re not hard at all to make! So next I’m adding mittens and finding another hat pattern.

I think hats and mittens will be my summer yarn busting project. That way the kids at the school I work at will always be warm when they ‘forgot’ their mittens and hat.

Here’s the pattern for the hat I tried, a Cloche Hat at Hopeful Honey My attempt did not do her hat justice. Please visit her blog to see what it should look like.
