I caught a blue fish on my hook!

P_20170807_090051-01This is a great pattern by Kate Wood. Cookies (named because of his bowl) turned out beautifully!! The Fancy Goldfish is a free pattern that you can download via Ravelry.

I was looking for a smaller fish but this one is so adorable I just bought a new bowl for him to live in. The shape and size of this “cookie jar” works.  I just added a few water-blue marbles and this funky pipe cleaner and volia! a home for the blue fish.

When my daughter went to university last year we had a good laugh about the rule regarding pets. No pets were allowed except “non-dangerous fish”.  Our first thought was, “Why did they have to make that specific of a rule? Did someone bring a pet jelly fish one year?”

Here we are a year later and I finally got around to creating her pet ‘non-dangerous’ fish.

I love how the different light changed the shade of blue.

I enjoyed working with this thread. It’s so soft. Unfortunately,  I don’t remember the details about this crochet thread. It’s from my stash.

The plan was to use all four of these to make a school of fish but my daughter doesn’t have room for a full tank of crochet fish!

  1. I’m going to have to disagree – this fish is dangerously cute!!! I can imagine a lot of strained face muscles from people smiling too big when they see him!!! 😀
