Wow. I thought August went by fast. September was a busy month. So busy that I posted August’s Tea & Yarn and ONE other post! Eeeek! While blogging has been quiet; I have been productive with my crochet hook.
I’ve written a few times about the gift I’ve been working on using Caron Cakes … I ended up buying one more cake to make it a bit bigger and put an edge on it. (After Christmas I’ll make a full post for it!)
I started on my other Christmas projects finally. My living room is full of bags. I sorted my various projects into bags with all the yarn, the hook(s) and supplies that I need for each project. [ 25 Cup Cozys, 10 Jar Toppers, 3 hats, shawl, 6 teacup coasters, and a hat/scarf set]
I modified the patterns a bit. The snowman coffee cozy needed a hat and the mason jar lid needed adjusting to the size.
The snowman is a great stash buster! I had a big ball of white and a bunch of little balls of various colours that will be scarves and some stray balls of orange/black/red and voila!
For the jar topper, I had white but need to buy some holy leaf green and berry red. I found some red ribbon in the bargain bin.
For the hats etc I suppose I could have used some of my yarn at home (shhh don’t tell my hubby!) but there was a great yarn sale so….
I didn’t buy much at all, especially when you consider I was unsupervised!
I had started on two of the projects, then I found out that a co-worker may be going on her maternity leave early, so I had to stop my Christmas crafts for her baby blanket.
I used Bernet Baby Blanket. (Chicks and Bunnies) OH MY! This yarn is as soft and cuddly as you could want for a winter baby!!
Then I was distracted again. With so many projects on the go, I found my stitch marker supply getting low. {Even with coupons, they’re expensive!} I found that I could make my own unique ones for less. (especially with a coupon and a bead sale!)
Well, I have a busy month ahead. The projects should work quickly. I just need to stay focused.
Did you get distracted this month? How are your holiday projects turning out?
