Sherbet and whip cream blanket

This blanket was such a joy to work on. The days just before spring brought more snow and were generally dreary. The soft texture of the yarn and the sublime, bright, spring colours just made me happy.  They’re such delicious colours that I think of this blanket as ‘Sherbet and Whip Cream’ instead of what the author has named it. (Rainbow Ruffle)

it did take me longer to make than I anticipated but I didn’t mind.  It’s warm and soft!

I found the pattern a little distracting to read but the photos were helpful. The author suggested that any color order would work but since this blanket was requested I made it with the color order as found on the pattern page.

Pattern: Rainbow Ruffle Blanket by Dada’s Place

Variation on pattern for my Ruffle Blanket Sherbet and Whip Cream Blanket:

I used Bernat Handicrafter Cotton yarn. {Pale Yellow, Hot Blue, Hot Orange, Hot Pink, Soft Violet and White.} I found with this yarn, I needed to go back and purchase extra yarn. (one more ball of each colour) I need much more white. It would have been best to purchase one of the big balls of Bernat Handicraft vs the many small balls for this project.

The yarn recommends a 5mm hook for this project I used a 4.5 mm

I had 91 stitches across which measured approx 80 cm. When I finished the blanket (following the colour order in the pattern) the blanket was 126 cm long.

Spring Green Baby Blanket

This blanket went extra fast. I just love the colours so much that I couldn’t put it down!

I used a slip stitch to join the squares and finished with a wave edging.Spring baby

I used this pattern for the squares: https://crochetstitchesandbutterflykisses.wordpress.com/2014/02/09/pattern-spring-granny-square/
